Kreisel Electric announced that a majority share of the Austrian company was bought by the American agricultural machinery manufacturer John Deere. Kreisel Electric was founded by the brothers Johann, Markus and Philipp Kreisel and will keep on operating from Austria.

The World Rallycross Championship 2022 will be the first season when the Rallycross supercars will be replaced by electric powered cars. All vehicles will use a powertrain from Kreisel Electric. The powertrain achieves an output of 500 kW and a torque of 880 Newton meters. The lithium-ion battery from Kreisel has a capacity of 52.5 kWh.

John Deere will use technologies developed by Kreisel Electric to build emission-free drive systems for heavy machines. Austrian authorities still have to approve the deal.
