Rounds 1 and 2 went to the World Rallycross Champion at the RallyX opener in Höljes.
In Saturday’s final, Kristoffersson narrowly beat Anton Marklund, whom Kristoffersson was only able to overtake in the final corner before the start-finish line. Kristoffersson benefited from a broken steering on Marklund’s Hyundai i20.
On the final jump towards the last corner, Marklund landed at an angle and broke his steering, so that Kristoffersson was able to overtake him in the last corner. Third place went to the Norwegian Sondre Evjen.
In the second round final, Kristoffersson secured victory ahead of rallycross and DTM legend Mattias Ekström, who could not go beyond 6th place in Saturday’s first final as he hit the barriers in the first corner.
Kristoffersson had a good start in the second final on Sunday and was able to keep Ekström stes at bay, Kristoffersson took the jokerlap on the last lap and ended up winning by almost 4.5 seconds ahead of Ekström and Enzo Ide.
RallyX continues in two weeks with rounds 3 and 4 in Kouvola, Finland.
